Parent Involvement
“If a child has been able to play, to give up his whole being to the world around him, he will be able, in the tasks of later life, to devote himself with confidence and purpose to the service of the world,” Rudolf Steiner.
A community of parents created this school, and a community of parents assists to maintain it. That is why we call on this community to be involved and enjoy being part of the school. The more time that is taken to interact, the more connected your family will feel.
Let your child’s teacher know your skills and availability should you have valuable skills to help in the classroom with set activities (such as craft, woodworking, art).
Ways to Get Involved
There are many ways in which you can be involved:
Working Bee – this quarterly event is a great opportunity to meet other parents all at once. If you cannot attend the working bee but you are available for gardening jobs during the week, please contact the school and we will be able to allocate a job to you.
Reading Support – a great way to support a student with their reading. One-on-one reading is an easy way to support a student and help them progress in their reading.
Book covering – we are continually growing our library resources and need ongoing help with book covering. No experience necessary and the materials are provided. Please let the office staff know and they can pack up some books to be covered.
Creative Spirit Fair – once a year we ask our parents to thrust themselves into volunteering at this fun event. Without our parent volunteers this event would not be possible. So please make sure you get involved.
Fundraising – we are currently working on the formation of a Fundraising working team for 2025. Stay tuned for further information.
